Shavuot is next

Shavuot commemorates receiving the Torah on Mount Sinai. The festival is also called "Hag HaKatzir", which means "The Harvest Holiday", "Feast of Weeks” and "Chag HaBikurim", from the practice of bringing the first fruits to the Templeot.

It is our tradition to stay up late learning the night before, reading Megillah Ruth, eating Dairy foods and adorning our homes and shules with flowers and trees, reciting the Yizkor prayer on 2nd Day.

Our shules have lots of Programs

Help us to maintain the Eruv

Every week of the year, irrespective of weather conditions, the Melbourne Eruv’s infrastructure (kilometres of wires and poles which form the boundaries) is physically inspected.

Where necessary a team of Contractors are on standby to carry out immediate repairs thereby ensuring that it is kosher to the highest
standards and can be relied upon for the forthcoming Shabbos.

The Supervision and maintenance of the Eruv is very expensive and requires your assistance.

Donations can be made to:

Melbourne Eruv Pty Ltd, PO Box 9 Balaclava Victoria 3183 or paid directly into the Bank Account of Melbourne Eruv BSB: 083 510 Account: 691804584
