As a topic of discussion at the meeting on December 4th, I would like to ask attendees what can be done to educate children differently to what has been attempted in the past, to make them wanting to behave respectfully and feel proud to be a Jew. They should be taught how and why it is meaningful to be in shul. At the moment fighting, loud talking and laughing, throwing rubbish around and leaving it on the floor and seats, asserting their ego-trips with their friends is not securing a future for Judaism. The education they receive at the moment appears to fail to give children meaning from our religion. Blaming parents and 'boys will be boys', although valid reasons, are not a solution.
