Rosh Hashana message from Isaac Teller

בס׳ד
כ"ד אלול ה' אלפים תשע"ד

As we approach the forthcoming High Holiday season, on behalf of the Board of the Council of Orthodox Synagogues of Victoria (COSV), I wish you a happy & healthy New Year.

The current year 5774 has seen blessings and challenges, both here and in Israel. Locally, one of greatest challenges for the COSV in the coming year will be to keep on providing the required funding for maintenance of the essential communal infrastructure of the Melbourne Eruv and the Melbourne Beth Din.

The Melbourne Eruv

Thousands of people each week enhance their Shabbat observance and experience through use of the Melbourne Eruv and it is imperative that every member of each Synagogue contributes their fair share. I look forward to your support through payment of the COSV levy - which you should find on your invoice for Shule membership - to enable these vital communal assets to continue operating.

One Shabbat

As well as its core activities maintaining the Melbourne Eruv and Melbourne Beth Din, the COSV also undertakes, co-ordinates and facilitates many varied activities & events throughout the year increasing the vitality & strength of the Melbourne Orthodox community. An example is the upcoming Shabbat Project over the weekend on 24-25 October 2014 which I encourage you to get involved & participate in.

Once again, I wish you a Shana Tova and may there be Peace in Israel,
