Rabbi Grunstein spent eight years in "Yeshivat Har Etzion"  completing both its "Hesder" program [combining service in the I.D.F together with yeshiva studies], and it's Kollel, ultimately receiving ordination by both the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, as well as from Rabbi Shlomo Riskin.

In September 2000, Rabbi Grunstein joined the "Straus-Amiel" program, which trains rabbis and educators to serve communities outside of Israel, and ultimately accepted the position of Rabbi & Chazzan of the "Beth Israel Synagogue" in Halifax, Canada, where he succeeded in developing the community, both refurbishing its existing content and leading it forward.

In July 2007, Rabbi Grunstein returned to Israel to assume the position as Director of training and placement at the "Straus-Amiel" institute, attempting to provide quality and professional spiritual leadership to communities around the globe.  The institute boasts 147 families now serving around the world, following rigorous professional training before these positions are assumed, and providing on-going in-service coaching & training during the course of their tenure.

Beyond this, Rabbi Grunstein is highly sought after to officiate at weddings of non-religious couples, offering a combination of a strictly Halchik wedding with sensitivity to their unique needs.  Finally, he serves on the founding faculty of the unique "Singer Kollel", for men who work during the USA hours of business while living in Israel, and thus spent their mornings learning.

A reserve solider in the IDF's Military Rabbinate, Rabbi Grunstein resides in Efrat together with his wife Tali and their three children.
